| Atmosphere from the old days The open-hearth room . . . is an experience by itself, with its old log walls, worn floors, and the open-hearth in the middle of the floor. The medieval atmosphere is to be touched and felt when sitting on the fur covered benches, getting information about things from the past, which are gathered here. The open hearth room is illuminated only by candles and the open fireplace. This place feels like created for old stories, and the narrative chair is frequently used. In these special surroundings we, among other things, offer a taste of aquavit as an opening of a nice evening. Great grandmother `s kitchen . . . is a room with an atmosphere from the good old days. Here the food and the bakeries are prepared in the old way; on open fire, on a griddle, in a stove heated by firewood, and in a stone bakery oven. The guests have the possibility to participate in making the food as well. The visit here can also be arranged as a special course, be the start of a fine meal in the cottages`s dining room, or as part of a larger arrangement. |
